THE HEART BEHIND IT ALL

We are women on Mission.
We are here to empower and inspire women not just to exist, but to live fully alive. We want to remind women that they are beautifully created and intentionally placed. Thryve is a place where questions are met with truth, and the messes in our lives can be drenched with the grace of God. We are not perfect, but we are being perfected by God’s love and grace as we allow Him to work in our lives.
We are anchored in God’s word.
God’s Word is our foundation and we want this value to be known in all the articles featured in Thryve Magazine. We believe the Bible is living and active (Hebrews 4:12) and the infallible word of God in written form. We believe that to “thrive” is to dwell in the wisdom of God and to live our lives upon it.
2 Timothy 3:16-17: 16 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.

WHAT WE NEED YOU TO DO

1. Read about our next issue.
Before submitting, review our upcoming issue direction/deadlines above.
    2. Be God-centered.
We want to read about your authentic experience, but be sure to share what God says on the matter. Refer to the scriptures that have guided you. Remember: it’s not just about what you have to say, but what God wants to say through you.
    3. Be professional.
You may have written your submission in your pajamas on a Tuesday afternoon, and not brushed your teeth, but we ask that you send us clean, fresh, edited work that’s ready to go to print. Please note that by submitting your work, you are agreeing to an extensive editing process if needed.
    4. Be yourself.
Each of us has a story to tell, it’s a matter of finding the right words so that other women can identify, connect, and be challenged. Take your time. Don’t rush the process. Include the reader. Be willing to dig deep within yourself. Be transparent about what God has done in your life.
    5. Email submissions.
Send your edited manuscript to submissions@thryvemag.com. Please include a short (5-8 sentences) synopsis of who you are in the body of the email. Tell us why you wrote what you did, what your favorite color is, if you’re a student, a mother, a grandmother, a break dancer, or a golf pro. Get our attention. We love getting to know the women behind these submissions.
Thryve Magazine reserves the right to publish any portion of submitted work in print, or on social media. Credit will always be given to writers. Please provide Instagram and/or Twitter handle in the event that portions of submissions are used.

    FAQ

    What do we publish?
Your very best work. Work that grips us, moves us, makes us consider how we can thrive in our day to day lives. We want work that surprises us; work that reveals itself through second and third readings; work that we haven’t seen anywhere else. Write enthusiastically. Bring hope to hard topics. Write with grace, but don’t be afraid to challenge us. Be personal, but don’t make the article all about you. Use inclusive language that invites our readers to participate in your revelations. We are open to considering work that has been published on personal blogs.
    Are there formatting guidelines?

    YES.

Please attach your article in a Word document.

For those that are working in Pages, please export to a Word document. Submissions must be written in 12 point font, Times New Roman, double spaced, with page numbers in the bottom right hand corner of each page. Please make sure you include your name and a title at the top of your article. We’re old school like that. Save your funky fonts for later.

To be considered, articles must be at least 1,500 words and no more than 1,700.

When will I hear from you?
The Thryve Editorial Team strives to respond to all submissions within 3-5 weeks. However, if we don’t get back to you by then, please feel free to pursue other publications.
